CLOSED | Call for Entry: Online Group Exhibition - "The World Laughs” February 2021

Patty Carroll, Staired Down, 2020

We are excited to announce that our February 2021 online group exhibition, “The World Laughs,” is being curated by the owner and director of Catherine Couturier Gallery, Catherine Couturier! To enter, all you need to do is read and respond to the following prompt with your analog photography:

Catherine Couturier writes: Most calls for entry are pretty serious. The contemporary art world is quite sure of its own importance, and art dealers and artists alike are often painfully dreary. It’s silly in most cases and exhausting in all, so let’s not do that today. Let’s lighten up! Let’s all laugh. Let’s all take a moment to giggle at the absurdity of the world we live in and champion the photographs that point out those absurdities. From slapstick to whimsy to irony, all forms of humor are welcome, be them cheery or dark or bright or bleak. Laugh, and the world laughs with you! Weep, and you weep alone.

We invite you to submit up to two photographs for this exhibition that capture the concept of this theme. We offer no limits to the photographs submitted, other than the fact that they are created with analog film or process. The best of these images will be showcased in an online show curated by the owner and director of Catherine Couturier Gallery, Catherine Couturier. This online exhibition will go live on our website on February 15th, 2021. Please follow the directions below to complete your submission. Good luck!

The deadline for submissions is January 31st, 2021!
