CLOSED | Call for Entry: Online Group Exhibition - "ELEMENTAL" April 2023
Analog Forever Magazine, is proud to present "ELEMENTAL," a curated online group exhibition for April 2023. This showcase will be expertly curated by a leader in the photographic community and gallery director of The Photographer’s Eye, Donna Cosentino!
To enter, all you need to do is read and respond to the following prompt with your analog photography. The best of these images will be showcased in an online show, beginning April 17th, 2023. Good luck!
Prompt:
A return to the basics, to the most fundamental powers of nature – earth, water, fire, air. Man and beast…all creatures that survive on this planet…require one or more of these essentials to exist.
As photographers how do we respond to these forces of nature? Some of us revel in the evanescence of water, lingering over scenes of rivers and oceans and their constant swirling movement. Some of us lose ourselves in primal forests, observing and photographing gnarled roots that have dug into the earth for thousands of years.
This perhaps suggests grand examples but our response to these primal fundamentals can be more intimate. I for one, can sit for long minutes and simply take in rain drops on a fern leaf or a lizard’s footprint in a sand dune. For me, these too are ‘elemental’.
Using a different paradigm, you may, for instance, envision LOVE or LIGHT as elemental to our existence.
Our personal and photographic connections to these basics and the way we express them are our own. As can be your interpretation of our theme, ELEMENTAL.
Deadline for Submissions is March 31st, 2023!
